Sometimes, without thinking, you will hear me slipping into another language. I like to call it massage-ese. Suddenly I’m slinging around $20 words like they cost me a penny!

Truthfully, you don’t have to be too worried about all the muscle words I’m throwing out there. When I tell you to stretch your gastrocs, you don’t need to know what that word means because I should be showing you where they are,how to stretch them and educating you on what they do.

(If I don’t, you have permission to say “whatchu talkin’ about, chickie?!?” and bring me back to our native language)

However, one word I do use often is “fascia”. It’s really important stuff and has a lot to do with how you feel and move. But it has an enemy – the fuzz (and we are not talkin’ the po po!)

You have never heard of Gil Hedley but in the massage world he is an anatomy guru. Here’s an entertaining video that explains exactly what the fuzz is, how it grows on your fascia, what it does and how to get rid of it!
